🧠💬 Today is World Suicide Prevention Day – 10th September The Wantage and Grove Neighbourhood Team would like to take a moment to highlight a cause that’s close to PC Oldroyd’s heart. This day is a vital reminder that suicide is preventable — and that it's time we opened up more conversations, especially with the group who often stay silent: blokes. In the UK, three-quarters of all suicides are by men. In 2023 alone, over 4,300 men died by suicide — that’s more than 12 men every single day. These are fathers, sons, brothers, mates. And many never reached out before it was too late. Whether you're struggling, feeling low, or just need a space to talk — you're not alone. 👥 Local Men’s Support Groups: ☕ Blokes. Brews. Biscuits Every other Monday at Grove Rugby Club A relaxed space to chat over a cuppa. 🗣️ Men’s Chat Club Held Every Monday from 1:30-3pm at The Kings Centre, Wantage Not a formal support group, but a place for chaps to come along and chat informally. 🥊 The Cornermen https://thecornermen.org/ - Based in South Moreton (Didcot) 📍 Andy’s Man Club – Thame https://andysmanclub.co.uk/ - A nationwide peer support group with a local session just a short drive away. Please remember: someone is always there to listen. It’s okay not to be okay – and there’s real strength in reaching out
