Explosion between Whitchurch and Hardwick

Dear resident,

If you heard an explosion between Whitchurch and Hardwick yesterday, we would like to reassure you that it was absolutely nothing to worry about.

We were joined by our military colleagues from 621 EOD ,Squadron Northolt Troop , in order for them to carry out a controlled explosion of a device that was found on farmland, believed to of been an unexploded WW2 grenade.

We are pleased to say the controlled explosion went as planned.
