Wokingham North NHPT - update |
||
Dear Resident,
Wokingham North NHPT, covering your areas of Twyford, Earley, Woodley and Winnersh have had a busy set of shifts over this period and at times have also teamed up with our partners in Wokingham South NHPT to lend an assist (standby for their update). Between attending our jobs from 101/999 reports, there were also plenty of engagements to be had.
As well as our regular duties, officers;
👀 From both North and South NHPT headed over to Newbury to assist in the search for a High Risk Missing Person.
⛵ The Woodley Team held an event at the Wokingham Water Centre, partnered with Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue and Lowland Search & Rescue, around water safety. Officers and participants had the chance to test their line throwing skills.
🐎 PCSO’s from Earley and Winnersh lent a hand to our ICR officers, after receiving reports of a wandering horse in the neighbourhood. Eventually, the owner was located and were able to ensure ‘George’ was safely relocated away from the roads and public.
🎲 PCSO Sparks, Emmet, Leightley and PC Lacey attended Reddam House Summer Fun Day, where the Ollie Young foundation held family fun games, raffles, face painting and more to raise funds for their foundation. We showed police presents and even brought a police car for children to explore, which they loved. Here is more information on the event and foundation.
🛴 A reoccurring concern from our neighbourhoods is the use of e-scooters and e-bikes. This week, Wokingham North (with SPC Berry) encountered 6x E-scooters across your neighbourhoods and were stopped and seized for failing to have insurance under Section 165 of the Road Traffic Act. Privately owned e-scooters cannot be insured at this time and as such are illegal to ride in public. As owners are not able to produce insurance documents to retrieve them, they are destroyed.
🗣️ PCSO’s Maguire and Elson, crewed with PC’s Young and Bogdanova hosted a Have Your Say event in Twyford outside the Train Station – with plenty of crime prevention tips and freebies on offer!
🚲 Woodley Team held a Bike Marking event outside Bulmershe Leisure Centre.
We really appreciate your feedback about concerns within your areas – it helps us to shape our priorities and set relevant actions in assistance with partner agencies. Let us know your concerns using the surveys below:
