Four more arrests in connection with attempted murder

We have made four more arrests in connection with an ongoing attempted murder investigation in Reading.

The two remaining victims in hospital have now been discharged. And the scene at St Mary’s Butts was removed this morning.

We are still appealing for help from the public as we believe there may have been numerous witnesses to the incident, including those with mobile phone footage of it and/or the aftermath. We understand that recent events have caused concern among the community and we are working closely with our partners to ensure the town centre remains a safe place for everyone. There are many safeguards in place, some visible and others behind the scenes including an increased police presence, particularly on Friday and Saturday nights to deter crime and provide reassurance.
