Appeal for witnesses to fatal collision

Hello Resident,

We are appealing for witnesses to a fatal road traffic collision in Horspath yesterday.

A white Kia Rio 2 left Cuddesdon Road, near the junction of The Green, and hit a telegraph pole at around 10.20pm. The driver, a 19-year-old man, sadly died at the scene. His next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers. Our thoughts are with them at this extremely difficult time. A female passenger was also injured but has been discharged from hospital.

A black BMW 3 Series, which had been in convoy with the Kia, remained at the scene after the collision. The driver, a 22-year-old man from South Oxfordshire, was arrested. He remains in police custody.
