Appeal for witnesses following sexual assault and attempted rape – Reading

Hello Resident,

We are appealing for witnesses following a sexual assault and attempted rape in Reading.

A woman in her twenties was attacked in Merchant’s Place in the town centre between 3-3.45am on Sunday. 

The offender is described as Asian/Russian, around 5ft 7ins tall, with lots of facial hair and long, straight black hair.

Specially trained officers are supporting the victim. 

We understand this sexual assault and attempted rape will cause concern but we are carrying out a thorough investigation. There will also be extra police officers in the town centre this weekend.
