Burglary

CRIME ALERT – RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY 

Location: Priory Road, Lyneham, Chipping Norton
Date: Monday, 21st July 2025
Time: Between 18:00 and 21:00 hrs

A residential burglary occurred on Priory Road, Lyneham on the evening of Monday, 21st July. Offenders gained access to a property and stole car keys, subsequently taking a van from the driveway. THE VAN IS A GRAPHITE GREY PEUGEOT EXPERT - CJ74DTU

It is believed the stolen vehicle may have left the area in convoy with a black BMW estate car.

Look out for any suspicious vehicles or unfamiliar people in the area.

Be aware that stolen vehicles are sometimes abandoned nearby—criminals may do this to see if a tracking device has been fitted before moving the vehicle again.
Please keep an eye out for any vehicles that appear out of place, parked awkwardly, or left unattended for an unusual amount of time.

We are urging all residents in the area to:

  • Check CCTV, Ring doorbell footage or dash cams from between 18:00 and 21:00 on the 21st July.
  • Report any suspicious individuals, vehicles, or behaviour.

    • Crime Prevention Advice:

  • Never leave car keys in obvious or easily accessible places, such as near doors or windows.
  • Consider using steering wheel locks or other visible deterrents.
  • Install and regularly check CCTV and smart doorbells – ensure they are functioning and set to record.
  • Keep vehicles locked, alarms enabled, and valuables out of sight.
  • Report any suspicious activity to police immediately by calling 101 (or 999 in an emergency).
