This morning, the Wantage & Grove Neighbourhood Policing Team visited HEROS, a local charity providing alternative education for young people in our community.

HEROS operates under the motto: “Promoting welfare, fulfilling potential, creating bright futures.” Through equine-based learning and outdoor education, they offer students valuable experiences and access to career pathways that might not otherwise be available.

Many students are referred to HEROS by social workers, mental health professionals, or schools. They attend on selected days to take part in activities such as horse care, forest school, or supporting the day-to-day running of the yard. These experiences help build confidence, life skills, and a sense of purpose.

We’re looking forward to building a closer relationship with HEROS — including regular engagement visits and referrals to support even more young people.
