Dear Resident,

We are appealing for witnesses to a robbery in Thatcham.

At around 2.30pm on Saturday 17 May, the victims, two teenage boys, were waiting for a friend on Long Lane when they were forced to hand over their e-bikes by an offender who exited a grey Volkswagen Caddy van. The offender then rode one of the bikes away, with the other bike in his offhand, towards Hermitage.

One Carerra Vengeance e-bike and one Specialized Rockhopper modified e-bike was taken during the incident.

No one was injured.

A 30-year-old man and a 27-year-old man, both from Reading, have each been arrested on suspicion of robbery. They have both been bailed while investigations continue.

We would specifically like to appeal for residents who live on or near Long Lane to review CCTV on their properties around the time of the offence to see if they can see the offender on the bike following the robbery.
