Hello Resident,
Hi PCSO C9987 Claire Hewett here, recently at my Have Your Say in Henley, I was told about anti social behaviour that has taken place at Mill Meadows in Henley on Thames.
Youths had been reported to be drinking alcohol near the river front on the tow path and smashing the bottles on the ground creating a mass of broken glass on the ground. We will use this information and conduct our patrols in this location when possible.
I would just like to advise that approaching young people who have been drinking and questing their behaviour is not always a good idea as they are more likely to react negatively and could be abusive due to the alcohol use. It would be better to make a note of the time the nature of the ASB, estimate how many are in the group, clothing that might stand out and whether they have any bags with shop names that might tell us where the alcohol was purchased and then report to us via the 101 number, online or contact us directly via email. If any crimes are being committed at the time, damage to property, assaults or thefts then call 999.
I also had reports about college students not looking when crossing the roads and again this is something can advise the Henley College about and they normally send out a message reminding the students to be careful!
Thanks to everyone that came to my Have Your Say. regards Claire.
