I am writing to you as a registered member of a specific interest group: namely Country Watch or Horse Watch.

Recognising that many rural communities use WhatsApp as their preferred means of communication, Thames Valley Police has recently approved the limited use of this platform, by my Community Policing officers.

My staff have begun joining the rural WhatsApp groups of which they are aware, but I am conscious that others may exist.

I would therefore ask that, if you know of a WhatsApp group, which serves an evidently rural community, and which you believe would benefit from a Thames Valley Police participant, I would be grateful if you could notify us and provide details, by means of reply.

Please be aware that the Chief Constable has set strict criteria to groups which can be joined, and so we reserve the right to decline invitations which would not qualify.
