We are investigating after the body of a 28-year-old woman was sadly found in Shotover Country Park at around 6.45am today. 

Her next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers.

Senior investigating officer Detective Chief Inspector Wojciech Spyt said: “Firstly, my condolences go to the woman’s family and loved ones during this difficult time. We are investigating the circumstances of her death, which is currently being treated as unexplained."

He added: “There is no threat to the wider public but please speak to a uniformed officer if you are worried or concerned. I would ask anyone who was in the park last night or early this morning to please contact us."
