Appeal for witnesses to incident of GBH – Newbury


Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses to an incident of grievous bodily harm in Newbury.

Between 9pm and 10pm last Sunday (21/4), the victim, a man aged in his twenties, was in Fifth Road, Newbury.

He was approached by an unknown person and was attacked, sustaining an injury to his head and wrist, which required hospital treatment.

He has since been discharged.

The victim’s mobile phone was stolen in the incident.

Investigating officer PC Kate Sidwell, based at Newbury police station, said: “I am appealing to anybody who may have witnessed this incident to please contact Thames Valley Police.

“I would be particularly keen to hear from any pedestrians or dog walkers who were in the area or anybody who was driving in the area to please get in touch if you have information that can assist my investigation.

“If you have dash-cam in your vehicles, please check this and contact us if it has captured anything that may assist.
